Malaysians.

For those who know me personally, would definitely describe me as a rebellious person, apart from being kind-hearted, loving and a leader (HA-HA). Well, I will leave the judging to my friends but I admit that I am rebellious. Often I am the one who would voice out any dissatisfaction. Maybe it's because of the American blood that flows in my veins. Poyo. But yeah, typical Malaysians and I dare to say, Malays, are too timid and would always find it difficult to say "No", "I'm busy" or "Fuck off". Of course, the last one is just an exaggeration. You get the picture. We are always worried about menjaga hati orang lain. If something is wrong, you fucking tell them that it's wrong. How you do it, is up to you. However, this is not the issue that I want to point out. Heh.

What irks me almost all the time is the civic-mindedness of the people in our country. A simple example is using the elevator. I personally would never use the elevator if I am just going up the first floor. Why would I want to waste people's time when I can use the stairs? Unless of course you're an old makcik or pakcik or a pregnant lady or whatever. Then I would actually insist that you take the elevator. Earlier this month I went to the LCCT and there were many cars parked at corners of the junctions. Big cars, small cars. To make it worse, there were cars parked on both sides of the road. These cars made it difficult for other drives to get through the corner. Is it so torturous to walk for just a few minutes under the hot sun? I parked at the other end of the damn parking lot and I didn't even once complain. Malaysians always park their cars at the "Dilarang meletak kenderaan di sini", always throw their rubbish at the "Dilarang membuang sampah" signs. Are we all illiterate? I'm sure that we're not illiterate. We're just selfish.

Above is the picture I took when I was in Glasgow last Hari Raya. Even though the road was practically empty, both of the cars got towed for parking there (Note: Both were Citroen cars parked in front of the Citroen building). Do we see our policemen do this in Malaysia? No. Manjakan sangat. No wonder we have idiots on our roads. I'm sure you can think of more situations like the ones mentioned. The key is not to do things that would make other things difficult for the people around you. Just think about it.

    Cik Belle,

memang la butang level 1 tu ada. Tapi if kita mampu naik tangga and tak buang masa orang yang nak naik tingkat 3 or 10 (contoh), kan ke lagi bagus? Kadang2 tu kita tunggu lama gila untuk lift. Last2 naik 1 level je. Baik guna that time spent naik tangga je if 1 level tu. Kan?

This is just my personal opinion and it's what I do. Saya tak buat apa yang saya tak suka orang buat kat saya. If it makes you happy to take the lift, then by all means, silakan :)
